The American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) is the national membership organization of conservation professionals. Its members include conservators, educators, scientists, students, archivists, art historians, and other conservation enthusiasts in over twenty countries around the world.

Icon is the lead voice for the conservation of cultural heritage in the UK. Icon's membership embraces the wider conservation community, incorporating not only professional conservators in all disciplines, but all others who share a commitment to improving understanding of and access to our cultural heritage.

ICCROM
ICCROM is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to the conservation of cultural heritage. Its members are individual states which have declared their adhesion to it. It exists to serve the international community as represented by its Member States, which currently number 129.
It is the only institution of its kind with a worldwide mandate to promote the conservation of all types of cultural heritage, both movable and immovable.
The decision to found the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property was made at the 9th UNESCO General Conference in New Delhi in 1956, at a time of mounting interest in the protection and preservation of cultural heritage. It was subsequently established in Rome in 1959 at the invitation of the Government of Italy.
ICCROM aims at improving the quality of conservation practice as well as raising awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage.
ICCROM contributes to preserving cultural heritage in the world today and for the future through five main areas of activity:

Verband der Restauratoren (DE)
Das Hauptanliegen des VDR ist der Schutz und die sachgerechte Bewahrung des Kunst- und Kulturgutes unter Respektierung seiner materiellen, kunsthistorischen und ästhetischen Bedeutung. Restauratoren tragen eine besondere Verantwortung für das Kulturgut gegenüber der Gesellschaft und der Nachwelt. Deshalb setzt sich der Verband dafür ein, dass sie über eine qualifizierte Ausbildung und hohe ethische Grundsätze verfügen, in ständigem fachlichen Austausch miteinander stehen und sich weiterbilden.

International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art
INCCA is a network of professionals connected to the conservation of modern and contemporary art. Conservators, curators, scientists, registrars, archivists, art historians and researchers are among its members. Members allow access to each others unpublished information (artist interviews, condition reports, installation instructions etc) through the INCCA Database for Artists' Archives.
Since its inception in 1999, the network has grown from 23 to almost 600 members (including independents and students) from 400 organisations in around 50 countries. (February 2011)

Stichting Behoud Moderne Kunst
De Stichting Behoud Moderne Kunst (SBMK) houdt zich sinds 1995 bezig met projecten op het gebied van het beheer en behoud van hedendaagse beeldende kunst. Doel is het ontwikkelen van 'good practice' waarvan alle belanghebbenden profijt kunnen hebben. Dit gebeurt in samenwerkingsverbanden met collectiebeheerders, conservatoren en restauratoren. Vragen uit het veld over uiteenlopende problemen (materiaaltechnisch, ethisch) komen hierbij aan de orde. Hoe ga je bijvoorbeeld om met vergankelijke materialen of een complexe installatie? Welke rol spelen de kunstenaar en het museum in deze problematiek? De SBMK initieert projecten, maakt de uitvoering ervan mede mogelijk en zorgt dat de verkregen informatie toegankelijk wordt voor vakgenoten.

Buchstadt Horn - European Research Centre (AT)
Establishing a - E u r o p e a n - Centre in the field is to pool resources and to focus strongly on the still unresolved issues.
This can best be done by intense communication and target-oriented research. The European Research Centre for Book and Paper Conservation-Restoration will offer a platform for this by providing access to specialist literature without language borders, a machine and tool platform and a European- partner for anyone expert assistance.
