Driedaagse workshop op 28-29-30 mei door Paolo Cremonesi
De workshop zal bestaan uit een theoriedag op de Reinwardt Academie in Amsterdam op 28 mei gevolgd door twee praktijkdagen bij de Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed.
De workshop ‘Introduction to the cleaning of contemporary paints’ wordt in het engels gegeven en is voor max. 10 personen toegankelijk. Paolo Cremonesi beschrijft zijn workshop als volgt;
“Aqueous cleaning procedures will affect binding media of contemporary paintings and objects to different extents. Research by many investigators around the world has elucidated some mechanisms that contribute to water sensitivity, and has devised protocols for safer intervention: aqueous cleaning solutions should possess proper parameters like pH, type and concentration of ions, adjuvants like chelators. Once the right aqueous solution has been engineered, the subsequent step is as important: how this solution gets applied to a specific surface. Minimizing contact time is often the winning strategy. This is the main topic this workshop is dealing with. Different procedures will be presented, from ultrasonic nebulization to the combination of controlled delivery of water and micro-aspiration. The latter system can also be modified to handle organic solvents. All participants will have the possibility of experiencing this approach.”
