18-21 September 2020 in Stockholm Woodworking Tools & Techniques - Past, Present & Future

Malmstens Alumni would like to invite you to a symposium on Woodworking Tools & Techniques – Past, Present & Future, in collaboration with Skokloster Castle and Malmstens Linköping University.

The symposium aims to bring together a diverse group of professionals with the common denominator wood, including art historians, cabinet makers, conservators, designers and artisans. The ambition is to cover historical, theoretical, technical and design-related aspects. What can we learn from old tools? How do woodworking techniques influence design? What are the tools and techniques of the future?

The symposium includes two days lectures and two days excursions including Skokloster Castle and Malmstens Linköping University. Updated information will be posted at www.malmstensalumni.com.

Contributions can be either oral presentations, posters or demonstrations.

Oral presentations should not exceed 20 minutes.
